Dermatology treatments can range from minor routine skin checks and in-office aesthetic procedures, all the way up to complex skin cancer surgeries. At Naaman Clinic in Birmingham, Sylacauga and Montgomery, Alabama, patients can expect well-rounded care for all of their skin needs.

The clinic’s highly skilled practitioners include Evans Bailey, MD, Ph.D.; Danette Bentley, MD, FAAD; Jennifer Samson, CRNP; Abby Melton, MSHS, PA-C; Hannah Reeves, PA-C; and Jena Green, RN, BSN. Each provider spends extensive time outside of the office focusing on continuing education and learning the latest diagnostic and treatment techniques.

Naaman Clinic specializes in medical laser and cosmetic procedures. Under the direction of Dr. Bailey, who is a fellowship-trained laser surgeon, the team can help both men and women overcome all types of skin ailments. Some of the most commonly requested treatments include laser skin resurfacing, laser tattoo removal, facial injectables, and noninvasive body contouring.

The team also provides expert routine skin checks and, if needed, skin cancer treatments. Practitioners at Naaman Clinic follow the National Cancer Center Network treatment guidelines for cancer removal and reconstruction. As a full-service dermatology office, patients can go through all necessary Mohs surgeries and skin cancer removal procedures, as well as reconstructive treatments.

Office hours are flexible at each Naaman Clinic location, so patients can get the aesthetic or medical treatment they need. The team welcomes new patients to the practice and prides themselves on treating each patient as a whole person, rather than focusing on treating a single concern.

PROVIDERS
Dr. Evans Bailey, MD, PHD

Dr. Bailey grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and attended Wheaton College for his undergraduate studies. He re­turned to Birmingham and completed his MD and PhD degrees and an internship in internal medicine at the University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB). Dr. Bailey completed his residency in Dermatology at the University of Michigan, where he was Chief Resident. After residency, Dr. Bailey completed his fellowship in Procedural Dermatology at Michigan and remained on faculty at the University of Michigan until he returned to Birmingham in 2010.

While on faculty at the University of Michigan, Dr. Bailey was an attending physician in the University of Michigan Multidisciplinary Melanoma clinic, one of the largest melanoma clinics in the United States. In addition, Dr. Bailey was an attending in the Merkel cell carcinoma clinic, where he participated in clinical trials to establish better treatment regimens for Merkel cell carcinoma, dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans and other rare skin cancers.

At the University of Michigan, Dr. Bailey was an attending laser surgeon in the Cosmetic Dermatology and Laser Center and the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. Dr. Bailey has extensive experience in a wide range of laser and light based therapies, including laser resurfacing of the face for aging, laser removal of pigmented lesions and tattoos, laser therapies for rosacea, and laser treatments of port-wine stains and other congenital vascular malformations in children and adults.

Dr. Bailey has published numerous articles on the genetic basis of the most common skin cancer, basal cell carcinoma. In addition, Dr. Bailey has published articles on the use of light and laser therapies for acne, and on the use of phototherapy for a variety of skin conditions.


Dr. Bailey is Board Certified by the American Academy of Dermatology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery. He lives in Birmingham with his wife and 5 children and his hobbies include gardening and cooking.

Dr. Danette Bentley, MD, FAAD

A Hoover native, Dr. Danette Bentley graduated Summa Cum Laude from both Auburn University and the University of Alabama School of Medicine. 

Upon medical school graduation, Dr. Bentley completed a Preliminary Medicine Internship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She then spent two years as a research fellow at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. While at Washington University, Dr. Bentley conducted many research studies on dermatologic therapeutics and dermatologic disease, including treatments for psoriasis, atopic dermatitis and cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. She then completed her dermatology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she was named Chief Resident.

Upon completing her residency, Dr. Bentley has practiced in the Hoover area. She enjoys providing comprehensive dermatologic care to patients of all ages, focusing on each patient’s individual concerns and needs. She enjoys all aspects of dermatology including medical, surgical, cosmetic and laser treatments.   

In addition to her private practice, Dr. Bentley has been Volunteer Clinical Faculty at the UAB School of Medicine in the Department of Dermatology. She has enjoyed teaching medical students and Family Practice residents who have rotated through her practice.  She also volunteers at Cooper Green County hospital as an attending in their dermatology resident clinic.  

Dr. Bentley lives in Hoover, Alabama with her husband and 2 kids. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and watching sports.

Abby Melton, MSHS, PA-C

Abby Melton, MSHS, PA-C, grew up in Dothan, Alabama. She received her bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Auburn University. She then moved to New York City to complete her Surgical Physician Assistant degree and obtained a master’s degree in Health Sciences at Weill Cornell Medical College. After graduate school, Abby practiced as a Dermatology PA in Long Island, NY before joining the Plastic and Reconstructive department at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan. Abby relocated to Birmingham where she continued her reconstructive plastic surgery career at UAB Hospital, caring for burn and trauma patients.

Abby is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She co-authored the research study: “Generation of Dermal Tissue in Full Thickness Burn Wounds with the Use of Fetal Bovine Acellular Dermal Matrix” with the publication pending. Abby has extensive training in a wide range of reconstructive surgeries including burn, trauma, breast, and head/neck reconstruction. Her practice includes all aspects from clinical dermatology to laser procedures. She currently assists Dr. Bailey in reconstructive surgery and Mohs surgery.

Abby, her husband, and their two young children reside in Birmingham. She enjoys painting, spending time with her family at the lake, and traveling.

Addy Hoezee, PA-C

Addy Hoezee, PA-C, grew up in Jenison, Michigan. She received her bachelor’s degree in Allied Health Sciences from Grand Valley State University. She then moved to Ypsilanti, Michigan where she attended Eastern Michigan University and completed her master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Addy is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She is an active member of both the American Academy of Physician Associates and the Alabama Society of Physician Assistants.

Addy’s passion is dermatology, and she is excited to receive comprehensive training and mentorship from Dr. Bailey. Her clinical experience includes comprehensive skin exams, biopsies, and other in office procedures. She enjoys learning under Dr. Bailey, and currently assists with reconstructive and Mohs surgery. She hopes to create strong and trusting relationships with patients, while also providing the highest standard of care.

Addy and her fiancé reside in Hoover, Alabama. She enjoys cross stitching, traveling and cheering on the Michigan Wolverines (Go Blue!).

Hannah Reeves, PA-C

Hannah Reeves, PA-C, grew up in Carrollton, Georgia.  She received her bachelor's degree in Spanish from the University of Georgia with an emphasis in biology and chemistry. She then moved to Augusta, Georgia where she attended the Medical College of Georgia and completed her master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies. She has practiced dermatology since 2012 with emphasis in Mohs surgery and skin cancer screening. 

Hannah is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.  She is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, the Alabama Society of Dermatology Professionals and the Alabama Society of Physician Assistants. Her practice includes all aspects of general dermatology including comprehensive skin exams and evaluation and treatment of various skin conditions. Her special interests include early detection of skin cancer, skin cancer prevention, treatment of severe acne and building skin care regimens for a variety of skin types. 

Hannah, her husband Steve and their three children live in Homewood. She enjoys traveling, spending time with family and being an active member of her church.

Jennifer Samson, CRNP

Jennifer Samson, CRNP, grew up in Spanish Fort, Alabama. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama and worked as a Registered Nurse in cardiology before earning her Masters of Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner concentration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She is also a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Jennifer has comprehensive training in the field of dermatology, including extensive training and mentorship under Dr. Bailey in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the skin. She performs comprehensive skin exams and evaluates and treats various skin conditions, as well as other procedures, and she works with Dr. Bailey to build strong, trusting relationships with patients and provide a plan of care to best manage their skin condition. She also assists Dr. Bailey in skin cancer and reconstructive surgeries.

Jennifer and her husband Vince currently reside in Hoover, Alabama. She enjoys traveling, running, and CrossFit.

Jena Green, RN, BSN

Jena Green, RN, BSN, grew up in Wichita, Kansas but relocated to Alabama in High School. She received her B.S. in Health Promotion and Minor in Business from Auburn University and worked at Atlanta Plastic Surgery before earning her Bachelor’s in Science in Nursing from the University of North Florida. She obtained her certification as a laser safety officer and is a member of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.

Jena has worked as an Aesthetic RN for The Vein and Laser Center in Jacksonville, Florida, The Greenville Vein Clinic and Aesthetic Center in Greenville, South Carolina, and as the Laser Coordinator at Surgical Dermatology Group. With over 20 years of experience, she has received extensive training, education, and knowledge specializing in lasers, veins, skin care, and other cosmetic procedures.

Jena joined Naaman Clinic in 2021 as our laser RN coordinator and serves our patients with their aesthetic needs. She is committed to providing top quality patient care while building trusting relationships with patients.

Jena is married with twins and currently resides in Hoover. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and reading.
